PG&E has replaced over 800 miles of cast iron gas line from Bakersfield to Oregon.

The utility was aiming to replace all of its old cast iron line throughout its 70,000-square mile service area by the end of last year. They say the new PVC line is more efficient and can better stand up to earthquakes.
