Stocks finished higher Tuesday.

The Dow gained 113 points, the Nasdaq added 26 points and the S&P 500 increased 12 points.

Strong demand and the threat of tropical storms along the Gulf Coast pushed crude oil prices 45 cents higher to $59.97 a barrel.
