A 30-year-old accused of stabbing a man at Ming Avenue and Real Road, then stabbing a woman on Oriole Street in Bakersfield has pleaded no contest to assault.

Mitchell Rocha also pleaded no contest to an elder abuse charge Tuesday and will be sentenced July 21. It’s not clear what prompted the attacks in April.
