The Bakersfield City School district has named Kent Ashworth as its new interim superintendent.He succeeds Dr. Robert Arias, who surprised the district last year by stepping down to take a job with the Kern Superintendent of Schools. Ashworth served as BCSD superintendent from 2012-13. The district is looking for a permanent replacement.
