The man who killed a woman walking down a southeast Bakersfield street has pleaded no contest to felony hit and run.

Police arrested Joel Gonzalez in February for plowing his SUV into Sabrina Gonzalez (no relation) on Cottonwood Road near White Lane and then speeding off. He also pleaded no contest to driving without a license.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 2nd.
