Health care providers and activists have teamed up to get 6,000 undocumented immigrant children in Kern County signed up for full scope Medi-Cal.

The Health 4 All campaign enrolls kids 19 and younger in the program, and those gathered at the kickoff event in front of Kern Medical Monday think it will save taxpayers in the long run by getting people out of emergency rooms and into doctors’s offices.

The $40-Billion Medi-Cal expansion went into effect statewide on May 1st.
