A street gang member faces life in prison for attempted murder.The case stems from an attack of a couple at their south Bakersfield home. Manuel Vela was found guilty Monday and his companion, Gloria Ramirez, was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. The victims were with their children in the front yard of their house when they were stabbed and beaten last November.
