A baby is in serious condition and after its father allegedly missed hitting the mother and struck the child instead. Deputies in Taft arrested 23-year-old Hector Robles on a list of charges including attempted murder, willful cruelty to a child and torture stemming from Saturday morning’s attack on a woman at a home on Lierly Avenue. Both the mother and child suffered fractured skulls.
