The Kern County Sheriff’s Rosamond substation has closed due to budget cuts. The office on Sierra Highway was locked at 5:00 Wednesday afternoon and deputies patrolling the high desert town will be operating from the Mojave substation on Highway 58. The department says they’re currently looking for an alternate location to place a new substation in Rosamond.
