The Kern High School District Board has addressed allegations of abuse of the CLETS law enforcement database by their police department with the announcement of a third-party investigation. Board President Mike Williams read a prepared statement at Tuesday night’s meeting saying the scope of the investigation will be limited to violations of district policy.

Police Chief Joe Lopeteguy has filed a claim against the district saying he was put on leave for reporting the violations.
