A Bakersfield man charged with killing three people who witnessed another crime has been found incompetent to stand trial.

Tokunbo Okuwoga is accused of breaking into a home on Bradley Avenue near the Valley Plaza Mall in 2010 to shoot the victims, but defense attorney Michael Lukehart says Tuesday’s decision was the right one because his client cannot mentally understand the court proceedings.

Okuwoga will spend the next three years in a mental hospital and then be re-evaluated.
