MOJAVE GAS PLANT TO GO IN

Supervisors have denied an appeal by Mojave residents to stop construction of a liquefied natural gas plant near their homes. Tuesday’s decision gives final approval for the Speedy Fuel storage and distribution center, and company spokeswoman Mary Jane Wilson says it has to be place near housing because it’s also near gas pipelines.

Neighbors say the facility brings only a few jobs, and their concerns include having a fuel facility near homes and construction dust increasing Valley Fever exposure.
