UPDATE–STANDARD SCHOOL BOMB THREAT TURNS UP NOTHING

A bomb threat closed down two schools in Oildale and had parents scrambling to pick up their kids.

Standard School District Superintendent Paul Meyers says he made the difficult decision around noon Friday to send everyone home from Standard Elementary and Middle schools on North Chester Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Office says a threat was made around 10:30 Friday morning, and a search of every room on campus turned up nothing suspicious.
