The 15-year-old girl who was shot and killed during a house party in southeast Bakersfield has been identified as Shafter High School student Candis Beckemeyer.

BPD Sgt. Brian Holcombe says it’s been difficult to find a suspect or a motive in Sunday’s attack on Santiago Court and Claire Street because every witness ran away before officers could talk with them. A man was also seriously wounded during the shooting.

The school has grief counselors on campus.
