The Kern Sheriff is investigating after a shooting in East Bakersfield sends a man to the hospital. This happened off Sterling Road and Deacon Ave at about 3am. The Kern Sheriff got on scene and found a man suffering non-life threatening injuries. Deputies arrested 29-year-old Issac Mize a short distance away after the suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment off Center and Webster Streets, and gave up after about an hour. Mize has been booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
