Part of Edwards Air Force Base is now being used as a solar farm. The new facility, which uses land north of the base, and 26-hundred acres inside the base now has its panels operational, generating over 13-hundred megawatts of power onto the state’s power grid. Private company Terra-Gen is leasing the land, which means the base gets money. Judkins says that money will be used for additional energy conservation projects.
