A deadly crash southeast of Bakersfield is being investigated, but it appears speed may have caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle. CHP Officer Tomas Martinez says the call for a solo vehicle crash came in at 11:09 Monday morning from South Union Avenue, just south of DiGiorgio Road.

Tomas says it has not yet been determined if DUI was a factor.
