A young woman is facing charges after threatening Bakersfield City Council members at Wednesday night’s meeting.

Outside the meeting, protester Maria Quinonez told 17 News they did not agree with what Riddi Patel said, but Quinonez was upset over the new security policy that’s in place.

That policy includes metal detector screenings and bag checks, similar to what’s long been done at county offices.
