The Bakersfield Downtown Business Association has been granted another $50,000 to increase security patrols in areas where local businesses are concentrated.

Bob Smith from Citiguard Security says, they’re pleased to be part of the revitalization that’s underway.

The patrols that began April 1st will be re-evaluated in six months. They are an outgrowth of the Block to Block initiative where owners and city leaders address the challenges faced by small businesses downtown.
