OVERUSE OF KERN COUNTY 911 EMERGENCY SYSTEM

Kern County is experiencing a record number of 911 calls, putting a strain on the emergency response system and delaying first responders. EMS Program Manager Jeff Farris says during a non-life threatening situation people are encouraged to use urgent care.

Kern is on path to receive 13,000 emergency calls by the end of June, exceeding any month during the pandemic.
