A 23-year-old man was arrested for fatal hit and run crash in Mojave. The California Highway Patrol announced the arrest of Garrett Smith Monday afternoon for the August 22, 2024 crash that killed one person on Sierra Highway north of Cerro Gordo Street. Smith is accused of hitting the victim’s car and driving away, as well as destroying evidence.
