Police: Both teenagers were armed in southwest bakersfield shooting

New information in the case of a pair of 15 year old boys involved in a killing at the Marketplace in southwest Bakersfield. Police chief Greg Terry tells KGET-TV the shooting Sunday night involving suspected trigger man Albert Briseno, Jr. and the victim Prince Banner was not a random act. There’s word on social media about a video taken at the scene in the parking lot near Edwards Cinema showing Banner lying on the ground wearing a ski mask and holding a gun. That weapon had not been fired, and officers are searching for the nine-millimeter handgun used in the killing. Officers say Briseno has acquaintances in a criminal street gang but haven’t confirmed if the shooting was gang-related. Briseno is in custody at Juvenile Hall after turning himself in to police on Tuesday.
