A fifteen year old boy being held in connection to a fatal shooting at a southwest Bakersfield shopping center is set to be released from custody. Albert Briseno, Jr. surrendered to police on Tuesday in connection to the death of Prince Banner, 15, at the Marketplace on Ming Avenue but prosecutors told investigators Thursday there’s not enough evidence to link Brisneo to the killing Sunday night in the parking lot near Edwards Cinema. Officers found Banner lying on the ground wearing a ski mask and holding a gun which had not been fired. The search continues for the nine-millimeter handgun used in the killing.
