driver sentenced in bakersfield shooting

The driver of a car involved in a shooting that killed a young Bakersfield boy has been sentenced. Jeremy King, 32, received a term of six years Wednesday for his part in the death of Kayson Guyton, 5, at California and S Streets in February 2017. King and Jonathan Knight, 35, were involved in a car-to-car shooting against rival gang members that accidentally took the life of the 5-year-old and injured his 7-year-old brother. King testified against Knight who will spend Life in prison for firing the fatal shots. King has served enough time behind bars after his arrest in 2019 so that he’ll be released from custody in January.
