person rescued from elevator

First responders with the Kern County Fire Department rescued a person who was performing maintenance on top of an elevator twenty feet above the ground. Firefighters from Los Angeles County also joined the efforts Tuesday evening to free the person who became injured and stuck while performing maintenance on the elevator at a building in the Gorman area. Fire crews removed the metal siding around the elevator shaft and lowered the person to the ground. The victim was taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.
