Bakersfield man convicted after attacking wife with scissors

A Bakersfield man has been convicted after attacking his wife with a deadly weapon as she shielded the couple’s one-year-old child. Wilson Morales was found guilty last Friday on numerous charges including domestic violence and felony child abuse. The incident occured last April when Morales and his wife got into an altercation after coming home from a party. Prosecutors say Morales pinned his wife to the floor and attacked her with a pair of scissors as she held the child in her arms. She suffered defensive cuts to her hands. An underage family member pulled Morales off the woman and choked him out. Morales faces nine years and eight months in prison when he’s sentenced March 4.
