A body was found Monday morning inside a vacant apartment complex in central Bakersfield.

Authorities say the boarded-up apartment complex at 1800 Forrest Street in the Oleander area has caught fire at least four times — and remains on the city’s chronic vacant building list.

Officials say the property has received more than 280 code violations.

Police say the corpse was that of a man with no signs of trauma. He died from natural causes.
