The Bakersfield Police Department released the results of it’s most recent DUI and Driver license Checkpoint.
Officers with the Traffic unit screened 695 vehicles and detained 24 drivers to test their sobriety. 5 people were arrested, and 24 cars were impounded.
The checkpoint happened Saturday night into early Sunday morning in the 300 block of East Truxtun Avenue.
Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Safety Administration.
