A suspect once on the run has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of a shooting at a convenience store in Arvin.

Bryan Andrade, 23, will spend eight years behind bars after his sentencing March 11.

Andrade pleaded no contest to one count of assault with a gun in February and was convicted of a shooting that severely wounded a man at a 7-Eleven on Bear Mountain Boulevard in December 2023.

He fled Kern County but was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Santa Barbara in March 2024.
