A Bakersfield woman accused of killing a young married couple in a DUI crash has been booked on suspicion of two counts of murder.
Annabell Correa, 21, was taken to jail Friday after recuperating in the hospital from injuries she suffered during the accident March 16 that took the lives of Max and Desiree Mooney, both 30, at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road.
Correa’s car reportedly struck an Uber taking the Mooneys home after getting a drink that night.
Correa faces two counts of second degree murder, four counts related to driving drunk and causing injury, failing to stop at a red light, and driving without a license. She’s being held on more than $2 million bail and is due in court Tuesday.
