A young Bakersfield couple killed during a Lyft ride home have been laid to rest.

A funeral service was held Thursday at Canyon Hills Assembly of God church for Max and Desiree Mooney, both 30, who died when a suspected drunk driver reportedly blew a red light and struck their rideshare vehicle at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road March 16.

Anabell Correa, 21, faces two counts of second degree murder after she allegedly told police she drank two can of Twisted Tea before the accident. She was also injured.

Correa pleaded not guilty on Tuesday and is being held without bail.

The Mooneys are buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
