A Bakersfield woman has been sentenced to four years probation after pleading no contest to felony child cruelty.
Temeca Cargille must also complete 400 hours of community service and take parenting classes.
The case began in 2021 when a 6-year-old foster child showed up at school with a cut lip.
A lawsuit claims the child suffered serious injuries including a broken rib and signs of undernourishment.
A court hearing on that civil case is set for August 22, 2025
