Bakersfield’s two Party City locations have been spared from the chopping block.

More than 700 of the popular chain’s U.S. stores are set to close by the end of this month after the company filed for bankruptcy twice in two years.

Local managers say their stores on Rosedale Highway and in the Stockdale Village Shopping Center are safe because they’re independently owner and operated.

Party City blames inflation, product costs, and consumer spending for the closures.
