More than 50 employers are planning to be in Shafter on Thursday, aiming to fill around 600 jobs.

The Shafter JobFest will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the city’s veterans hall on California Avenue.

It’s one of several employment fairs being put on this year by Kern County.
