Bike Bakersfield says it’s going to lobby the city and Kern County for more bicycle paths over the next 10 years.

Executive director Jason Cater says the group has accomplished a lot during its first decade, including helping out with pair of bicycle path master plans.

“One with the county of Kern, the other with city of Bakersfield – we’ve helped get over 40 miles of bicycle infrastructure installed in our community,” he said.

About 100 people celebrated the group’s 10th anniversary during a fundraiser dinner at the Bakersfield Museum of Art on Thursday.
