The U.S. Attorney’s Office says it’s responding to a growing number of federal cases out of Kern County by opening a new branch in west Bakersfield.
They’re hoping the new California Avenue location will take some strain away from the Fresno office, which traditionally handles Kern County cases.

Two prosecutors will work out of Bakersfield.
