Kern County’s Red Cross chapter is using the film “San Andreas” to educate people about disaster preparedness.
Jennifer Stoker is with the agency and says the film, which centers around a 9.8-magnitude earthquake devastating California, should prompt discussions about staying safe.
“People will probably be a little more curious, maybe to see what the Red Cross does, or see how they, personally, can be prepared if a disaster happens to them,” she said.
The group will be handing out pamphlets to moviegoers at the Edwards Bakersfield Stadium 14 on Ming Avenue through the weekend.
