Kern County’s American Red Cross chapter says they’re still helping people in the mountain communities hit hardest by sudden thunderstorms and rainfall.
Executive Director Amy Smith says between 16 and 18 people visited shelters in Tehachapi and Frazier Park over the weekend and Monday.
“We’ve sent volunteers out into those communities, essentially looking for additional homes or additional people that need our assistance,” she said.
Smith says at two people in Frazier Park are seeking help after being forced out of their homes by mud and debris.
