Beginning on October 3, 2015, and extending through October 11, 2015, residents in Greater Bakersfield began experiencing a rash of vehicles in which windows were being broken out by what appears to be the use of a BB or pellet gun.

Most of these offense occurred during the late night/early morning hours to vehicles parked on the street. Most offenses occurred in northwest Bakersfield but there were offenses in other areas as well. In all there have been over 130 offenses in City and County jurisdictions. Detectives are following any and all available leads but information is scarce at this point in the investigation.

In an effort to encourage citizens to report any available information leading the arrest or arrests and convictions of suspect/s in these cases Secret Witness of Kern County is offering a reward of up to $2,500.
