A former teacher charged with engaging in sex acts on campus with two male students has pleaded no contest to two felonies.

Investigators say Vanessa Hooker, who taught at Beardsley Junior High School in Oildale, admitted to contacting the boys after her arrest in December. She could get a year in jail at next month’s sentencing and will have to register for life as a sex offender.

Three other charges were dropped in exchange for the no contest pleas.
