A 35-year-old man from northwest Bakersfield is being held on $250,000 bail after his arrest on mail theft charges.

Deputies conducting a compliance check Tuesday on Cripple Creek Avenue just east of Calloway Drive found a manufactured mailbox key, a forged check, forged document, and some kind of “dangerous weapon” at Jeffrey Carroll’s residence.

A hearing is scheduled for today.
