A 27 year-old man who showed up at his wife’s house despite a stay-away order managed to elude deputies who surrounded the home. The SWAT standoff on Rench and Norris roads in Oildale began around 4:30 Thursday afternoon and lasted past midnight.

The man has not been identified. It’s believed he had been drinking and may have been armed.
