A blustery start to the annual Relay For Life at the Kern County Fairgrounds did little to slow festivities, drawing more than 7,100 visitors.

That’s not counting some 3,400 participants and over 1,200 cancer survivors plus volunteers.

The fundraising so far this year is $932,905.
