The California High Speed Rail Authority Board has voted to run their route in Bakersfield along Golden State Avenue with a station at F Street, after spending the day meeting with city leaders and other parties. But Authority Board Chairman Dan Richard said Tuesday that does not mean the matter is settled and the final outcome will depend on a variety of factors including environmental impact reports.
Bakersfield sued against a route that used the current railroad tracks that end at the Amtrak Station downtown because of traffic concerns, and ultimately proposed the alternative on Golden State Avenue.
