A local organization is celebrating National Bike to Work Week by encouraging people to exchange their cars for a cleaner way to get around.

Bike Bakersfield is setting up commuter support stations at several locations across town with snacks and drinks to hand out to riders.

The group hopes the week’s festivities get businesses to install showers and bike racks for employees and persuade city planners to adopt more bicycle-friendly paths in future developments.
