Kern Transit is looking to simplify their fare structure. The country-run bus system will hold a public hearing just before the County Board of Supervisors’ vote on the plan. Some Kern Transit routes have a dozen different fares but the idea is have a single price throughout the county-wide system, with monthly passes also available. Kids and seniors will have reduced rates. The hearing and vote are set for June 7th. If approved, the new structure would go into effect July 11th.
