More firefighters continue to arrive to fight the Deer Fire.Containment had reached 76 percent as of Monday evening with 1,118 firefighters working on the lines. Evacuations for Bear Valley Springs and Hart Flat had been lifted when it became apparent the fire was not going to crest the ridge and reach a large expanse of conifers killed by drought and bark beetles. So great the danger of those trees, areas closest were told to evacuate in the first hours of the fire even though it was on the other side of Bear Mountain, about 6 miles east of Arvin.
