Bakersfield will not vote to legalize pot shops in November.Signature collection efforts by Kern Citizens for Patient Rights ran into trouble because of paid canvassers from outside the area. Attorney Phil Ganong said they sampled petitions and found a lot of invalid signatures and knew they could not make the deadline for November. The group will do the signature gathering themselves and say they expect to be qualified for the June 2017 election hoping to make medical marijuana shops legal and regulated in Bakersfield.
