A jury has returned a conviction in the death of 25-year-old Michael Whatley, Jr.The victim was shot at a home on Orleans Drive in southwest Bakersfield in March. 28-year-old Travell Clark faces life in prison after Friday’s verdict for first-degree, premeditated murder and being a felon in possession of a weapon. Whatley was shot seven times with a 9mm semi-automatic weapon. A sentencing date is pending.
