The man who killed a motorcycle rider in a DUI crash in Arvin has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Angel Gutierrez took a plea deal last month to avoid a trial for second-degree murder in the death of Danny Cottengim near Sunset Boulevard last year, but defense attorney David Faulkner thinks the victim was equally at fault because he had meth in his system.

Gutierrez already had three other DUI convictions before this arrest, but Faulkner believes his client will only serve three years.
